Dinner Board does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server operated by us. Your meals, recipes and shopping lists stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage that only you can read.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you create — meals, recipes, ingredients, categories, shopping lists, meal templates, pantry items and any photos you add — is stored on your device.

If you are signed into iCloud, that same information is synchronised through Apple's CloudKit to your private iCloud database, so it appears on your other Apple devices. That storage belongs to your Apple Account. We cannot read it, and we receive no copy of it.

The app works fully without iCloud. If you are signed out, everything simply stays on the one device.

What leaves your device

Three things, and only these:

  • Your data to your own iCloud, if you are signed in. Handled by Apple; not visible to us.
  • A purchase to Apple, if you buy Pro for Life. Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details, name or email — only whether an Apple Account owns the upgrade.
  • A recipe you deliberately share, to whoever you send it to.

Shared recipe links

When you share a recipe as a link, the recipe travels inside the link itself, in the part after the #. Web browsers never send that part to a web server, so this website never receives a shared recipe — the page decodes it in the recipient's own browser.

A shared recipe contains only its name, servings, prep and cook time, method and ingredients. It deliberately does not include your rating, your notes, how often you have cooked it, or any identifier.

The support form

If you send us a message through the support page, we receive the name, email address and message you typed, so we can reply. That is used for nothing else, is never sold or shared, and is kept only as long as it takes to sort out your question.

What we do not do

  • No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
  • No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
  • No third-party SDKs. The app has no external dependencies at all.
  • No account, email address, phone number or password.
  • No selling or sharing of personal information, because none is collected.

Permissions

Notifications are used only to remind you about a meal, or to take something out of the freezer. You can decline, and the app still works.

Photos are chosen through Apple's system picker, which hands the app only the image you select. The app is never given access to your photo library.

Children

Dinner Board is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Your data, and deleting it

Because your information never reaches us, there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. You control all of it:

  • Export everything to a file from Settings, at any time, free.
  • Delete the app to remove its data from that device.
  • Remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Dinner Board.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
